For the second consecutive year, Shell served as the official fuel sponsor of the JEG's Engine Masters Challenge. Presented by Popular Hot Rodding and Engine Masters, the Engine Masters Challenge is the largest and most well-known dynomometer competition in North America. A “dyno” is a computerized machine used to measure an engine’s horsepower.

The 2007 Engine Masters event challenged 30 of North America's top engine-building teams in a built-to-spec competition. Kicking off October 1 at the University of Northwestern Ohio, the teams uncrated their engines and hooked up to the dynos to measure raw horsepower and torque numbers.

After five days of competition, B.E.S. Racing Engines of St. Leon, Ind., was named the winner of the 2007 Engine Masters Challenge. As the official fuel sponsor, Shell played a key role in ensuring all participants competed on a level playing field by providing Shell V-Power premium gasoline to be used in every engine in the competition. Shell congratulates B.E.S. Racing Engines on its performance and looks forward to next year’s competition!
