Formula One 2007. When the Formula One race came to the Indianapolis Motorspeedway on June 15, 2007, Scuderia Ferrari driver Felipe Massa came away with a hard-fought third place podium finish in a race that proved to be dominated by two teams.

While Massa had a strong start that kept him on pace with the race leaders, teammate Kimi Räikkönen temporarily fell to sixth place when he was passed by BMW Sauber's Nick Heidfeld and Renault's Heikki Kovalainen going in to the first corner. After making steady progress towards the front of the pack, Räikkönen picked up significant pace and regained fourth position behind his teammate. However, Massa wouldn’t let a valuable podium position slip through his fingers and crossed the line in third place with Räikkönen only 2.5 seconds behind him. McLaren-Mercedes' drivers Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso secured first and second place finishes respectively.

Only one race remains to determine this year's champion. Check your next issue of Shell V-Power V-zine for an update on the race to the championship!

All Three Richard Childress Racing Teams in The Chase.
All three of Richard Childress Racing’s (RCR) fulltime NASCAR Cup Series teams – Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton, and Clint Bowyer – qualified to compete in the 2007 Chase for the Cup! Harvick, Burton, and Bowyer were seeded 10th, 11th, and 12th respectively for the 10-race Chase, which began on September 16th at New Hampshire International Speedway.

“Getting all three drivers into this year’s Chase has been a goal since last season ended so we’re very proud,” said Richard Childress, president and CEO of Richard Childress Racing. “Our engine and aero departments have been working on a lot of new things for the Chase so we’re going to go for it. We have three shots at this championship and we’re going to give it everything we have.”

For Harvick and Burton, this marks the second consecutive season of making the playoffs. For Bowyer, this is his first appearance in NASCAR's playoff format in just his second full season of Cup Series competition.
