The annual SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show in Las Vegas, NV is the premier automotive specialty products trade event in the U.S. Attracting more than 100,000 automotive leaders from over 100 countries, this year’s SEMA show brought together attendees in the automotive, truck and SUV, marine and RV segments to show off their latest products and accessories.
“American Muscle” was the theme of this year’s show with the Big Three – DaimlerChrysler, Ford and General Motors – displaying an unprecedented 61 examples of classic and modern muscle, from legendary 1970 HEMI Barracudas to the new 469hp supercharged Cadillac STS-V. Never in the history of the SEMA Show has there been such a generous display of American iron, past and present. In addition, six members of the hot rod community – Scott Whitaker, Corky Coker, Kenny and Ray Gollahon, Mike Goodman and Steve Moal – celebrated the grit of hot rodding with the POSIES Driven Dirty Tour. Instead of arriving at the show with their hot rods on trailers, washed, waxed and ready, these drivers trekked cross-country from Hamilton, OH, to Las Vegas, NV, each in a custom hot rod. Needless to say, SEMA 2006 was chock-full of the newest concept cars, displays, demonstrations, and special events.
Shell V-Power was also on hand this year, partnering with Automotive Rhythms to distributed merchandise and Shell gift cards to SEMA attendees. To view images of SEMA from Automotive Rhythms, click here.
